Geography

Local structure

The two districts Großpöhla with Siegelhof ( hammer mill ) and Kleinpöhla with arrow hammer be separated from Pöhlwasser.

History

The municipality was formed on December 13, 1855 by the merger of Großpöhla and Kleinpöhla under the common name Poehla. The place name is of Slavic origin and is derived from the word Bjelo often used in place and field names, bright 'or' white ' from. The name derives from the place it was the stream running through, the Pöhlwasser.

Großpöhla and Kleinpöhla had initially developed independently. The Pöhlwasser was not only the border between the two communities, but also carried the rule boundary between the rule of Black Mountain and the beautiful Freiburgische rule or by both selling to the Electorate of Saxony 1533/1559 between the later merged offices Schwarzenberg and Crottendorf.

Großpöhla been called "the Behl " or " the Bohl " in 1406 first documented and has been designed as a single-row Waldhufendorf. The four hooves inhabited in the late 16th century, 26 " obsessed man ", including eleven " small cottages " with their families. At the beginning of the 19th century, there was already Großpöhla from 75 houses and about 750 inhabitants, etc. subsisted from lace-making, spoon making, woodworking, mountain and hammer works. In the village there was a Erbgericht and a beige Leite of Schwarzenberg. Near the village there was also a private lime kiln. See also: Siegelhof ( hammer mill ).

Probably in the first half of the 16th century was built on the left of the Pöhlwassers the later arrow hammer. Even in 1495 is in a investiture of only " zwene Menner in the Bele " for the Schwarzenberg share the speech. The population increased to such an extent that in 1551 already two landowners, cottagers six and nine Inwohner in Kleinpöhla were established. It has a Gutsblockflur Over the centuries the Arrow Hammer was one of the main employers in the village and contributed to the rising population growth.

Today Poehla is hardly economically more important. Above all, tourism and winter sports community to create that new upswing.

The community was eager longer time to release it from the since 1995 existing administrative community with markers Bach and Raschau. This measure was rejected by the mayors and councils of marker Bach and Raschau. A referendum on 26 November 2006 remained at first without success, although the inhabitants Pöhlas majority voted for the desired output and simultaneous incorporation in the district town of Schwarzenberg. Also repeatedly chasing the Saxon Ministry of the Interior initially remained inconclusive. The Pöhlaer local councils could rest their mandates Between January and July 2007 because they saw for legal reasons no way to implement the above-mentioned referendum. The Mayor of Poehla endorsed this approach, although this was probably to be regarded as a breach of the Saxon church order. The work was resumed on 19 July, as important issues without council decision could not be made. After the two emerging in the unified community Raschau marker Bach partner marker Bach and Raschau had agreed to the resolution of the existing management community, this could be confirmed by the Saxon Ministry of the Interior in its Official Journal of 27 December 2007 and so the way to annexation to Schwarzenberg be paved. The previous honorary mayor Anne Rose reason (FDP) has been retired; Head to the local Annelore Liebchen (The Left ) was determined. The City Council Schwarzenberg was amplified up to local elections in 2009 with three Pöhlaer city councils; the previous council continued to work as Ortschaftsrat. The preservation of primary school in Poehla was one of the main arguments for the annexation to Schwarzenberg. However, it was on May 17, 2010 that according to the plans of the Saxon Ministry of Culture, the primary school is to be closed after the school year 2010/11.

With 665 members of the congregation counted in August 2009, more than half the population of the Evangelical-Lutheran parish Poehla.
