Polish Economy Hall of Fame

Inclusion in the Galeria Chwały Polskiej Ekonomii is a significant award for Polish economists.

History

In 2005 donated Manager Magazine (Poland ), a Polish license edition of the same German magazine Manager Magazin (translated: Hall of Honour of the Polish economy) a pendent to the German Hall of Fame, the Galeria Chwały Polskiej Ekonomii. With the inclusion in this hall of honor even a significant Polish economist was honored for his life's work and related services to the Polish economy annually. In 2012, the Association of Polish finance directors Finexa took over ( Stowarzyszenie Dyrektorów Finansowych Finexa ) this price and divided the ceremony in its annual congress in. With the acquisition of the award, a new jury was assembled.

Carrier and jury

The Hall of Honor is worn by the Polish Financial Managers' Association since the end of 2012.

The carrier commissioned by the jury shall be composed of eight public figures:

  • Adam Budnikowski, former Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics
  • Paweł Domosławski, President of the Finance Director Association Finexa
  • Mieczysław Groszek, board member of the Association of Polish Banks
  • Alicja Kornasiewicz, former vice - minister in the Polish Ministry of the Treasury
  • Adam Maciejewski, CEO of the Warsaw Stock Exchange
  • Krzysztof Obłój, economist and university professor (University of Warsaw, Kozminski University)
  • Henryk Orfinger, chairman of the Employers' Association Lewiatan
  • Witold Orlowski, Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology Business School

Sculptures and artists

The heads of the honorees are manufactured as sculptures in bronze and shown in a public exhibition period. The bronze heads are produced on a scale of from 1:1.2 based on a plasticine form.

The author of the sculptures is Jerzy Marek Nowakowski, a living at Posen sculptor. Nowakowski was born in 1963 in Bydgoszcz and studied at the Academy of Fine Pieknych today ( Academy of Fine Arts) in Poznan. His diploma in 1993 he laid the sculptor Kopczyński Józef ( 1930-2006 ).

Nowakowski has been represented since 1993 to individual and group exhibitions in Poland and Germany. He is the author of commissioned works for monuments, price - sculptures, plaques, as for the Międzynarodowe Targi Książki ( International Book Fair in Warsaw) or the cities Obornicki, Wolsztyn, Grodzisk Wielkopolski and Nowy Tomyśl ( monument of Chopin ).

The exhibition

The mounted on metal pillars sculptures of award winners will be exhibited in the hall of the Stock Exchange in Warsaw.

  • Marek Belka ( b. 1952 ), President of the National Bank of Poland and former Prime Minister of Poland (winner 2013)
  • Henryka Bochniarz (* 1947), presidential candidate in 2005, President of Polish Employers Association ( winner 2008)
  • Władysław Grabski (1874-1938), Polish politician (Prime Minister) and economist (winner 2005, posthumous)
  • Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski (1888-1974), Polish politician and economist (winner 2005, posthumous)
  • Wieslaw Rozlucki ( b. 1947 ), President of the Warsaw Stock Exchange from 1991 until the fall of 2006 ( 2007 winner )
