Ponte Capriasca

Ponte Capriasca is a municipality in the district of Capriasca, in the district of Lugano in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

Geography

It is located a few kilometers north of Lugano. With the community Origlio fusion efforts are on going, as the new community name Ponte Origlio is requested. The project was December 2013 dropped after the negative votes in the communities.

This place is famous for its church, which is dedicated to Saint Ambrogio. This church has a painting of the Last Supper ( Cenacolo or Ultima cena ). It was in the 15th century by Cesare da Sesto, a pupil of Leonardo da Vinci, painted.
