Port LaBelle is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Hendry County in the U.S. state of Florida with 3,530 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Port LaBelle borders east to the city of LaBelle and is located approximately 200 km northwest of Miami. Through the CDP leads the Florida State Road 80

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 3,530 inhabitants distributed to 1,376 households. The population density was 158.3 inh. / Km ². 67.8 % of the population were white, 9.6% African American, 0.4% Native American and 0.7 % Asian Americans. 17.9% were members of other ethnic groups and 3.6% in different ethnic groups. 53.4 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 23.1 % of all households lived in 50.3 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 77.7 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 3.18 and the average family size is 3.52 people.

36.6 % of the population were younger than 20 years, 29.6% were 20-39 years old, 20.8% were 40-59 years old and 13.0 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 29 years. 51.0 % of the population were male and 49.0 % female.

The average annual income was $ 32,463, while 23.2 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 54.10 % of the population spoke Spanish and 45.90 %.
