Portishead is the second album of the same trip-hop band from Bristol. It appeared about three years after the highly acclaimed predecessor dummy and the same time marks the beginning of an eleven-year waiting period on the third studio album Third. As singles the songs All Mine, Over and Only You were released.

The album is slightly behind the critically acclaimed debut, but was also called " brilliant record".

In various album of 1997 rankings album won top places, including in the Melody Maker ( 18th place), in the NME ( No. 32 ), spinning ( 6th place) and Q ( in the top 50, in no order ).

Film Music

Some tracks on the album were as film music series or in use, including Undenied in Under the Sand and Only You in Warehouse 13 ( Season 1, Episode 5).
