Poul Thomsen

John Poul Thomsen ( * February 15, 1922 in Barse on South Zealand ( Sydsjælland ), Denmark, † December 16, 1988 in Gentofte ) was a Danish actor.

Life

Thomsen graduated from 1945 to 1949 at the Odense Teaters elevskole an actor training. As a traveling theater actor he toured subsequently by various Danish provinces until he settled in 1950 in Copenhagen. He appeared there in various roles and at numerous theaters, as in Ungdommens Teater, (formerly Betty Nansen Teatret ), Fiolteatret, Folketeatret, Gladsaxe Teater and Comediehuset.

Poul Thomsen also had several appearances on Danish radio broadcasts of Danmarks Radio, where he was a very popular speaker with a good reputation. In addition to his tenure as a radio presenter and program announcer, he was still in the Danish Radioteatret with (Radio Theatre), where he spoke different roles. In addition, he has spoken several audio books for the radio station DR 1 and also for the Danish Gyldendal. The most popular audio books were: The fremmede af Albert Camus on DR 1 and Gyldendal audio books the narrative En dejlig torsdag af John Steinbeck.

Furthermore, Thomsen played in many Danish films and television productions as an actor. He usually embodied in film and television, small distinctive and important supporting roles. In the Danish television series The people of Korsbæk ( Matador ) and Oh, these tenants ( Huset på Christianshavn ) he played among others in several episodes with. In the film series to Olsen Gang, he was involved in various supporting roles in ten films. He spent a total of 1944 until retirement in 1985 Thomsen, consistently active as an actor.

Private

Thomsen was first married to Toni Biering and in second marriage with Åse Scharling. After his death he was buried in the cemetery Solbjerg ( Solbjerg Parkkirkegård ) in Frederiksberg.
