Poverty's No Crime

Poverty 's No Crime is a Lower Saxon progressive metal band from Twist rings, which was founded in 1991.

History

The band was formed in 1991 by singer and guitarist Volker Walsemann, guitarist Marco Ahrens, bassist Christian Scheele, Marcello Maniscalco keyboardist and drummer Andreas Tegeler. In the years 1993 and 1994, followed by My Favourite Delusion and Perfect Wings, the first two demos. In 1992, the band won the Newcomer Rock Festival, organized by radio station Ffn. Followed by appearances, so the band played, among others, as the opening act for groups such as Depressive Age and Waltari. Mid -1990s, the band reached an agreement with the Berlin label Noise Records. Their debut album, " Symbiosis " took the band to the T & T Studios in Gelsenkirchen with producer John McGowan. The album was released in spring 1995. After the release, the band had already started the work on The Autumn Years, which was released in spring 1996. Followed by appearances in Europe, together with Victory, Virgin Steele and Angra. Despite numerous appearances to Noise Records left the band, so that the group was first again without support from a label. Afterwards further appearances, including with Skyclad.

As of January 1997, the band began writing new songs and also reached an agreement with InsideOut Music, what the album Slave To The Mind was published in the same year. Towards the end of the occupation of the band changed greatly since Marcello Maniscalco keyboardist and bassist Christian Scheele left the band. The band nevertheless wrote more on new songs and went into the studio to record the album One In a Million. Shortly before the recordings came with Jörg Springub a new keyboard player to the band. The album was released in June 2001. Shortly after the release came bassist Heiko Spaarmann to fill. It was followed by appearances together with Vanden Plas, Zero Hour, Pain of Salvation and Anathema.

After two years, the band went into the Sound Garden studio to record a new album, which was released in late October 2001 under the name The Chemical Chaos in Europe and North America.

The album Save My Soul was released in 2007 via InsideOut Music.

Style

The band plays particularly melodic progressive metal, with influences from the Hard Rock can be heard. The music is comparable to the works of bands like Dream Theater and Threshold.
