Prague Grand Prix

The Grand Prix of Prague ( official name currently Tesco Grand Prix after the sponsor Tesco, until 2007 Mattoni Mattoni Grand Prix after the sponsor ) is a running sport event that takes place in Prague since 1996. It is organized by the organizers of the Prague Marathon and consists of two road races: a race for men over 10 km (Metro Men 's Race ) and a race for women over 5 km ( adidas Women 's Race ). Since 2003, a cross-country race is integrated in both races.

History

The Erstaustragung found 1996 Golden Ten day before the Prague Marathon instead. Both men and women started over 10 km. The following year, the event was moved to the fall and limited to the male elite runners. It was extended by a woman running over 5 km in 1999.

2009 the men's race, the Road Race Silver Label IAAF was awarded.

Route

Start and finish of both routes is on the Old Town Square. Both run partly through the old town, partly along the Vltava River.
