Přibyslav (Náchod District)

Přibyslav ( German Prenzlau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located three kilometers north-east of Nove Mesto nad Metují and belongs to Okres Náchod.

Geography

Přibyslav is located on the right side above the valley of Mettau on a loop of the river, opposite the mouth of the Olešenka. To the east rises Mount Sendražský Kopec (618 m).

Neighboring towns are Bražec and Lipí in the north, Jizbice in the northeast, Sendraž in the east, in the southeast Jestřebí, Nove Mesto nad Metují in the southwest, and Vrchoviny Šonov u Nového Mesta nad Metují in the west and Václavice in the northwest.

History

According to old traditions are said to have been Kopec on ​​the river loop of Mettau over the country waiting on the Sendražský in the 11th century Chaluppen. First mentioned was the place in 1336, as Heřman of Dubé on Náchod acquired the dominion Krcin. Originally Přibyslav belonged to Krcin and got to Elizabeth of Kostelec and Cervena Hora that the place had later in 1396. At the beginning of the 15th century left Beneš of Giant Castle and Krcin the place of his sister Elizabeth of Ratiborschitz, the wife of Hynko of Dubé and Vízmburk. These closed to the place of dominion Vízmburk. In the 15th century Přibyslav became part of the dominion Náchod.

1836 founded Father Rojk from Nove Mesto nad Metují a library. After the abolition of patrimonial Přibyslav in 1849 into an independent municipality in the district Nové Město nad Metují. The school was located until 1850 in Krcin and then in Vrchoviny. From 1853 onwards Přibyslav was gepfarrt nad Metují to Nové Město, the burials found until 1870 but continues in Krcin instead.
