Primož Pikl

Primoz Pikl ( born August 25, 1982 in Celje) is a Slovenian ski jumper.

Career

Pikl, which began in 1991 at the age of eight years with the ski jumping and starts for the SSK Ljubno BTC, made ​​his international debut in the FIS Ski Jumping Continental Cup for season 1999 /2000. On 26 December 2001, he had the first opportunity to jump in St. Moritz on the podium, but this just missed out in fourth place. After he finished in the summer of 2003, nearly all jumping in the top ten, he was on 30 November 2003 in Kuusamo his debut in the World Cup Ski Jumping. After he did there, and also in the following competitions in Engelberg could not score, he remained on the elite team within the Continental Cup. However, his results went in the winter here too changeable. Only in the summer of 2004 he succeeded in Velenje again the leap into the top ten. Also in Ramsau am Dachstein, he was successful with two fifth places.

As the World Cup kick-off the 2004/05 season in Kuusamo succeeded Pikl first place with 29 points to win two World Cup. This remained until mid-December, however, the only point placement, after which he again went in the Continental Cup at the start and even in winter achieved good rankings for the first time. On 5 February 2005 Pikl stood in the Continental Cup competitions von Braun situation with the third place on the podium for the first time.

On 25 March 2007, he reached 15th place in ski flying in Planica his best individual placing in the World Cup. In the second-class Continental he could, however, win a total of six summer jumping from 2007 to 2009. At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, he reached in jumping on the normal hill on points with Emmanuel Chedal the 24th Place.

After the Olympic Games themselves Pikl tried in the summer of 2010 at the Ski Jumping Grand Prix, the points missed but in some cases significantly. Even in summer - Continental Cup he was rarely successful. Also in the Four Hills Tournament 2010/11 he missed scoring points clear in all individual competition. In January, he was then firmly back in the Continental Cup squad, where he already finished fifth again was able to achieve a very good placement in Brotterode in February. Also in Kranj he reached selfsame place. The Continental Cup 2010/11 season he finished in 24th place overall.

The summer of 2011 was less successful Continental. The best result with rather mixed placements was a 14th place in Klingenthal. The Winter 2011/12 season began with Pikl rear Punkteplatzieren. Only in Sapporo in January he succeeded again a place in the top twenty. However, he was subsequently unable to repeat in the other jumping on the achievements of previous years and finished so in the end only the 52nd place overall. His nomination for the Ski Flying World Cup in Planica took Pikl in March, although true, but had to concede defeat clearly already in the qualification.

In the summer season 2012, he launched successfully with an eighth place in Stams. The second jump was with the 11th place successfully. After he once again reached a ninth place later in Sochi, he started in August at the Grand Prix jumping in Courchevel. However, it did again missed the points, even if in this case, just barely. At the beginning of the season 2012/13 the power curve Pikls broke again, so he was transferred back in January 2013 in the FIS Cup, so since then jumps C squad. In February, he succeeded in Kranj after a fourth place in the first competition in third place in the second jump.
