Princess Alexandra, The Honourable Lady Ogilvy

Princess Alexandra, Lady Ogilvy (Alexandra Helen Elizabeth Olga Christabel Ogilvy, née Windsor; born December 25, 1936) is a member of the British Royal Family, a granddaughter of King George V

She is currently in 45th place of the British throne, when she was born she was still in 6th place.

Life

Princess Alexandra of Kent was born on 25 December 1936 as the second child of George, 1st Duke of Kent, and Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent (née Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark) in London. Her mother was a cousin of Prince Philip. Alexandra lost her father at the age of five, when he came in a plane crash during World War II killed. Her siblings are Edward, 2nd Duke of Kent ( born 1935 ), and Prince Michael of Kent ( born 1942 ).

She was the first British princess who went to public school. At the wedding of her cousin Princess Elizabeth in 1947, she was bridesmaid.

On April 24, 1963 married Princess Alexandra self at Westminster Abbey in the presence of the entire royal family Angus Ogilvy, second son of David Ogilvy, 12th Earl of Airlie. Ogilvy declined the proffered by the Queen elevation to Earl and thus remained civil, as in the United Kingdom only the champions themselves are noble, but not their relatives, even if they lead courtesy title.
