Privat Group
The Private Group, Private or Group ( Ukrainian: Група " Приват " ) is an influential group in the Ukraine by the private bank, one of the largest banks in the country.
The group is led by the Ukrainian entrepreneurs Henadiy Boholyubov, Oleksiy Martynov, and Ihor Kolomojskyj, they controlled parts of the steel, oil, chemical, energy and food industry in Ukraine, Russia and Romania, partially relevant. The business core of the group are financial services and the iron and steel industry. Most companies in the group, including the private bank itself, are located in Dnipropetrovsk or in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The private group also owns several Ukrainian media, maintains close relations with politicians and is a sponsor of the Ukrainian professional sports.
Iron and steel industry
Various iron and steel enterprises form the core of the Private Group ( Ukraine is 54.7 million tonnes of the world 's sixth largest producer of iron ore and 38.6 million tonnes, the seventh largest producer of steel); the group forms a complete vertical chain from manufacturing to processing to sales.
Ore mining and processing enterprise
- Extract Marhanets Mining & Processing Kombinat and Ordzhonikidze Mining & Processing Kombinat and enrich the processing iron alloy for the domestic market of the raw material
- " Suha Balka " JSC extract iron ore to Krivoy Rog
- Pivdennyi Mining & Processing Kombinat ( co-owned by Vadim Novinskyi ) Build from iron ore and processing it further in Krivoy Rog

Oil industry
According to media reports, the private group has significant shares of Ukrnafta and NPK Halychyna. Ukrnafta is a parastatal oil company which deals with the extraction of oil and gas condensate, as well as the retail petrol thanks to its large network of filling stations. NPK Halychyna owns and operates an oil refinery in Drohobytsch ( Lviv Oblast ). The group also has control over the Illichivsk Fuel Terminal Company, the operation of oil and gas terminals in the Black Sea port of Illichivsk.
Food industry
The private group has the Dnipropetrovsk soft drinks company " Biola ". The group controls a large part of the sugar beet processing industry throughout the Ukraine ( Ukraine is the world's fifth largest producer of sugar beets).
Energy
In 2005, the private group bought shares in five energy group and therefore has widespread control of the power supply in Ivano -Frankivsk, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv and Lviv / Lemberg. The names of companies are the names of the respective location / Oblast with the ending- oblenergo, eg " Poltavaoblenergo ".
Sports
The Private Group is a sponsor of the professional soccer club FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.
Relations and controversies
The private group is in a constant and fierce conflict with the Ukrainian businessman Viktor Pinchuk and his Interpipe Group. Many subsidiaries and affiliates of Interpipe Group have their headquarters in and around Dnipropetrovsk.
Before the Orange Revolution, the group was relatively politically uninvolved, but loyal to the regime of Leonid Kuchma. After the change of government, the owners of the private group included allegedly an "alliance " with Yulia Tymoshenko, which was contested by Tymoshenko.
