Puss Gets the Boot

Jerry gets busted is an American animated short film directed by Rudolf Ising from 1940 and the first animated film that shows the Tierduo Tom and Jerry.

Action

Tom has caught Jerry and plays with him. He always makes running towards him on his open mouth, painted a wrong mouse hole in the wall, so that Jerry repeatedly hits his head, and drives the mouse to the edge of despair. As times go again some things in the chase to break the housekeeper upheld: Should Tom still smash a single thing, they will throw him out.

Now Jerry's finest hour has come. The next attempted attack stops the mouse immediately by holding a champagne glass over the edge of the table, ready to drop it at any time. She goes even further: She throws all glasses including tray from the table and Tom has difficulty to absorb all things in good time. He devises a ruse and puts the entire floor under the table with cushions. Jerry but simply continues on the next best shelf and throws all Zierteller of the house to the ground. Soon Tom has a huge stack of dishes in the arms and Jerry finally manages to throw a plate out of reach. He goes to break, and shortly thereafter sämtliches by Jerry exposure held by Tom dishes. The mouse takes refuge in her mouse hole and now happily observed from a safe distance, as Tom is thrown by the housekeeper of the house.

Production

Jerry gets busted came on 10 February 1940 in Technicolor in the cinemas.

It was the first Tom and Jerry animated film and the first collaboration between Hanna and Barbera. Although the German title already, refers to Jerry, the mouse, the mouse in both the original title as in the animated film itself has no name, while Tom is called Jasper. However, cat and mouse are similar in appearance already Figures Tom and Jerry.

Jerry gets busted is nine minutes in length, the longest short film about the Tierduo. The original title of Puss Gets the Boot refers to the English title of the cat Puss, Puss in Boots.

Awards

Jerry gets busted in 1941 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film " nomination, but could not prevail against the Milky Way.
