The Pyrenees Highway is a highway in the west of the Australian state of Victoria. It connects the Calder Freeway in Elphinstone with the Glenelg Highway in Glenthompson.
Course
In Elphinstone, about 43 km south of Bendigo, the Pyrenees Highway branches off to the northwest from the Calder Freeway ( M79 ) and reaches 13 km from Castlemaine and the Midland Highway ( A300 ). From there it heads west through Maryborough to Avoca, where he crosses the Sunraysia Highway ( B220 ).
From Avoca Highway moves to West southwest and crosses at the Ararat Western Highway ( NA8 ). He leaves Ararat south and bends at Maroona from south- southwest, where it terminates in Glenthompson, about 46 kilometers east of Hamilton, on the Glenelg Highway ( B160 ).
History
By 1911, the highway was called Elizabeth Highway.
