PZL-Mielec M-18 Dromader

PZL M-18 Dromader (Eng. " Dromedary ") is an agricultural aircraft of the Polish aircraft manufacturer PZL.

History

The low-wing monoplane was developed in the mid -1970s by PZL in cooperation with the U.S. firm Rockwell International. The first of two prototypes had its maiden flight on August 27, 1976. In 1978, a fire variant came about. From 1984, the two-seat "A" variant was produced for Inter flight in which there is a second seat for the station mechanic behind the cockpit.

From 1996 until today, the " B " version built by PZL. So far, about 750 machines of the type M18 in various versions, including some dual control versions for the training ( "AS" and "BS" ), has been made ​​.

The hull of the aircraft is a steel tube structure with a length of 9.50 meters. The span is 17.70 meters. The chemical tanker the " A" version has a capacity of 2700 liters. The payload is 1250 kg. The maximum takeoff weight is 4200 kg.

The agricultural aircraft can liquid and solid fertilizer deploy and is also used for fire fighting. For example, the Greek Air Force has 19 pieces M18B and three piece M18BS in stock.

Variants

PZL M-21 Mini Dromader was a geometrically scaled-down version of the M-18 reduced by 150 kg payload. There two prototypes were built with 441 kW leistendem PZL -3S engine. The first flight took place on 18 June 1982.

PZL M-24 Super Dromader is an enlarged version with 2000 kg payload. From these four prototypes were built. The first flight took place in 1987.
