Quality Street (confectionery)

Quality Street is a mixture of individually wrapped and packaged in a box of sweets, which are manufactured by Nestlé in Halifax, United Kingdom.

History

Quality Street in 1936 brought by the Halifax pastry Mackintosh on the market, the name comes from the eponymous play by JM Barrie. "Major" and "Miss ", inspired by the two main characters of the play were presented until 2000 on all Quality Street boxes and tins. The original template for "Major" and "Miss " were Iris and Tony Coles from Chingford, Essex (now Greater London ), Children of the advertising illustrator Sydney Coles, who created the product image.

In 1988 the brand was acquired with the purchase of the company Rowntree 's by Nestlé, was in fact the brand one of the reasons for the Acquisition.

In order to expand the brand, several larger versions of the more popular varieties were produced and sold individually in recent years. In particular, the hazelnut chocolate was marketed (the big Violette English) in accordance with their traditional wrapping paper as "The Big Purple One".

Quality Street is in the United Kingdom, the United States, Ireland, Canada and Iceland (where they are called traditionally " Mackintosh " ) often associated with Christmas and purchased during this time as a gift.
