Queen's Park (TTC)

Queen's Park is an underground subway station in Toronto. It lies on the Yonge- University - Spadina line of the Toronto Subway, at the intersection of University Avenue and College Street. It is named after the nearby Queen's Park. The station, which has a central platform, is used daily by an average of 47,390 passengers (2009 /10). In the vicinity are the Houses of Parliament of Ontario, the Toronto General Hospital and the southeastern part of the University of Toronto. There is an interchange with tram line 506

The opening of the station on 28 February 1963 in conjunction with the section Union - St. George University of Subway. Its full market value reached this section, however, only three years later with the opening of the crossing in St. George Bloor- Danforth Line. The occupancy rate was lower than originally forecast in the initial years. For this reason, the operation was limited, especially on weekends; he is at all times throughout the entire route only since 1978.
