Quique Ãlvarez
Enrique Álvarez Sanjuán called Quique Álvarez ( born July 20, 1975 in Vigo ) is a former Spanish footballer.
Playing career
The beginnings
The native Galicians Quqiue Álvarez comes from the youth of FC Barcelona. He then played for the C-, and later for the B team. Also for the A- team of the Catalans it was used, but only in a single game during the season 1995 /96 apply. Although he made his breakthrough at Barça not, but his education there helped him to jump into professional football since Barça B played mid-90s second-rate. After the descent of his team Quique Álvarez went on loan to league rivals CD Logroñés, where he was used regularly. The move to UE Lleida in 1998 signified the jump from a relegation candidate into one of the favorites on the rise. Even though almost all the games he played in Lleida and his first two professional goals scored failed Álvarez with the Catalans both times the rise.
Villarreal and Recreativo
In summer 2000, Quique Álvarez went to Villarreal, who first achieved promotion to the Spanish first division last year. It should be the best time in his career. With the Ostspaniern he played twice in the UEFA Cup and was also reflected in the Champions League season 2005/ 06 a name when he reached the semi-finals with his team.
In summer 2007, the former captain of Villarreal's left the club in the south to sign with Recreativo Huelva. In the years before the performers came less and less often used. After relegation in the 2008 /09 season with Recreativo as Table and only in the last season game was used, he finished his career.
Others
His father Quique Costas was also football players. This played for Celta Vigo and FC Barcelona. As a coach, he coached 1989-1996 Barcelona B, where he also coached his son Quique Álvarez.
