Quivicán

Quivican on the map of Cuba

Quivican is a municipality and a city in the Cuban province of Mayabeque. By 2010, the municipality belonged to the defunct province of La Habana.

The municipality is located north of Güira de Melena and west of San Nicolas de Bari. The settlement was officially founded in 1700.

The municipality counts 29 253 inhabitants in an area of 283 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 103.4 inhabitants per square kilometer.

Quivican is divided into three neighborhoods ( Barrio ): Delicias, Güiro Marrero and Pueblo.
