Rachel Douglas-Home, 27th Baroness Dacre

Rachel Leila Douglas -Home ( born October 24, 1929 as Rachel Leila Brand, † 25 December 2012) was a British Aristrokratin.

She was the daughter of Thomas Brand, 4th Viscount Hampden and 26th Baron Dacre and Leila Emily Seely, a granddaughter of Charles Seely, 1st Baronet, and great-great- granddaughter of John Russell, 6th Duke of Bedford.

She herself was a great-granddaughter of William Montagu Douglas Scott, 6th Duke of Buccleuch and therefore a direct descendant of King Charles II.

On July 26, 1951, she married the playwright William Douglas -Home, son of the 13th Earl of Home, the younger Brudes the later Premieministers and 14th Earl of Home, Alec Douglas -Home.

They had four children:

  • Hon James Thomas Archibald Douglas -Home ( born May 16, 1952), 28th Baron Dacre, married to Christine Stephenson a daughter, Emily Douglas-Home (born 7 February 1983), which holds claims the title of a Baronees Dacre.

In 1965, by the death of her father, a state of Abeyance over the title of Baron Dacre, which was completed in 1970 in their favor.
