Radiation (Album)

Occupation

Radiation (English for " radiation" ) is the tenth studio album by the British progressive rock band Marillion. To visualize this anniversary the letters " io" are in contrasting colors in Marillion and Radiation on the cover. The CD was released in September 1998.

Background

Following the arrival of Steve Hogarth Marillion it took a while until a unique style was found, see Hogarth era. With Radiation Marillion changed its sound compared to previous albums radically. It is worth noting especially the altered guitar playing of Steve Rothery, which no longer so dominated the band's sound here. In March 2013 appeared under the title Radiation 2013 remastered and remixed re-release, which was considered by fans and critics mainly as a value- enhancing. This version of the album is slightly shorter than the original version due to lack of perceived inappropriate passages.
