The fishing village is first mentioned in 1583 in an Ottoman document.

The village had, according to the last census (2002) 808 residents who lived in 217 households. This corresponds to approximately 3.7 persons per household. Ethnic seen are about 99 percent of Macedonians, which invariably profess to Orthodox Christianity.

Neighboring villages in the north Kalista (about five kilometers in a straight line distance ), in northwestern Mali Vlaj (about two kilometers ) to the south and Albania in the little village Lin (about four kilometers ).

The population is concerned mainly with agriculture, animal husbandry, viticulture and especially fishing. Today, it is, however, very outdated, as many young people have left the village for work and prospects.
