Raes Junction

Raes Junction is a small settlement in New Zealand. It is located at the connection of State Highway 90 to State Highway 8 south of the South Island. These highways are the connection in the valley of the Clutha River for travelers from Dunedin and Invercargill.

Raes Junction is located 62 kilometers by road from Milton, 67 miles from Gore and 72 km from Alexandra away. The intersection of highways located three kilometers south of the Clutha River. The nearest major town is Lawrence, which is located 25 km south-east.

Although the settlement is little more than a rural municipality itself, it acquires through its role as a transportation hub of local significance, as well as the larger settlement Beaumont, about 6 km south-east. The village is only inhabited by five families who work on the farms of the area and operate the Raes Junction Hotel.
