Rail transport in Tunisia

Rail transport in Tunisia is now run on the one hand national of the Société des chemins de fer tunisiens. Second provider is the Société des transports de Tunis, which operates the subway in Tunis.

History

In Tunisia, both routes were standard gauge - mainly in the western half of the country - as well as meter gauge - in the east and southeast of the country - built. Networks in both gauges exist today and meet in Tunis, where lead double track railway tracks in both the port and the main railway station ( " Tunis Ville "). Rail Tunis
