Rainbow Group (1984–89)
Rainbow Group: Federation of Green - Alternative European Alliance Agalev - Ecolo, the Danish People's Movement against Membership of the European Community, the European Free Alliance in the European Parliament was one of existing 1984 to 1989 in the European Parliament. It included 20 who at that time 518 MEPs of various green, left and regionalist parties.
After the 1984 European elections attracted from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands for the first time, Green parties in the European Parliament a. They joined together with the deputies of the regionalist European Free Alliance, which had previously been a member of the Group for the Technical Coordination and Defence of Independent Groups and Members. After the 1989 European elections, the Green parties formed their own group, while the parties to the EFA further led the group as the Rainbow Group in the European Parliament.
