Ralf Illenberger

Ralf Illenberger ( born December 20, 1956 in Stuttgart ) is a German guitarist.

Life

Illenbergers first performances took place in 1977, first with duo partner Jürgen Kirsch. Later he founded with guitarist and singer Martin Kolbe & Kolbe Illenberger the duo, the album Waves published in 1978. The album was nominated for the German Record Prize. By 1987, Kolbe & Illenberger released six more albums and played about 1000 concerts in 40 countries, partly in collaboration with the Goethe -Institut.

In 1987 Illenberger Ralf Illenberger the band 's Circle. A CD of the same name was published in 1988 ( top ten in the annual list of the magazine Pulse ). The title song of the next album Heart & Beat ( 1990) became a radio hit in the U.S. and reaching the top position in three radio playlists. Soleil (1993 ) received a four-star rating in Downbeat and excellent reviews ( " One of the best examples of the genre New Age ", German: One of the best examples of New Age genres - Chicago Tribune. ). In collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Büdi Siebert was released in 1994 the album Serenade.

Since 1991 Ralf Illenberger often works with the new-age singer Susan Osborn. They played several albums together and completed five tours of Japan. In his studio in Sedona (Arizona, USA) Illenberger adopted since 1995, the CDs Sedona, Still Waters ( with David Friesen ), The Gateway, The Kiss and Emerge on. In 1997, the album was released to you what I thought of Hannes Wader with Ralf Illenberger and Eberhard Weber ( bass), waders interpretations of Schubert songs. Illenberger arranged the original piano accompaniment for guitar and bass. With the singer Lenedra Carroll ( the mother of the singer Jewel) he took in 2005 on the CD Beyond Words and worked as a producer and arranger in 2006 for Kiana ( a Hawaiian singer ) and Simon Spire from New Zealand. In 2011 appeared the publisher Acoustic Music Books Gradebook " Best of Kolbe- Illenberger " with 13 fully notated works.

Since 2010 Ralf Illenberger plays in a guitar duo with guitarist Peter Autschbach. In Illenbergers studio in Sedona, they took in 2012 on their album " No Boundaries ", which they presented in many concerts in Germany, Italy and the United States. A cover story on the duo appeared in the journal Akustik_Gitarre.

During his activity as a composer, producer and guitarist Illenberger sold 400,000 LPs and CDs and gave concerts in 50 countries. So far he has produced 16 albums, including three top ten titles in the U.S. and five albums in Europe, which earned him a Grammy nomination and a nomination for the German Record Prize. Ralf Illenberger lives and works in Sedona, Arizona, in the United States.
