Raphael Thattil

Raphael Thattil (* April 21, 1956 in Thrissur, India) is Auxiliary Bishop of Trichur and Apostolic Visitor for the Syro -Malabar Christians in India outside the traditional territory of Ernakulam- Angamaly Großerzbistums.

Life

Raphael Thattil received on 21 December 1980, the sacrament of Holy Orders Dür the diocese of Trichur.

On 15 January 2010 he was named Pope Benedict XVI. Titular Bishop of Buruni and appointed him as Auxiliary Bishop of Trichur. The Archbishop of Trichur, Andrews Thazhath, donated to him on 10 April of the same year, the episcopate; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Palghat, Jacob Manathodath, and Archbishop Emeritus of Trichur, Jacob Thoomkuzhy.

On January 11, 2014, Pope Francis appointed Apostolic Visitor for the Syro -Malabar Christians in India who live outside the traditional territory of Ernakulam- Angamaly Großerzbistums.
