Jacob Thoomkuzhy

Jacob Thoomkuzhy ( born December 13, 1930 in Vilakumadam ) is Archbishop Emeritus of Trichur.

Life

Jacob Thoomkuzhy received on 22 December 1956, the ordination. Pope Paul VI. appointed him on March 1, 1973 Bishop of Mananthavady.

The Archbishop of Ernakulam, Joseph Cardinal Parecattil, consecrated him on 1 May of the same year the bishop; Co-consecrators were Vayalil Sebastian, Bishop of Palai, and Sebastian Valloppilly, Bishop of Tellicherry.

On May 18, 1995, he was appointed Bishop of Thamarasserry. John Paul II appointed him on 11 November 1996 as Archbishop of Trichur. On 22 January 2007 Benedict XVI accepted. its age-related resignation.
