Raunheim train station is a suburban train station in the same city at the southern Hesse kilometer 15.9 of the Main Railway opened in 1863.

Reception building

The station building was built in 1863. It follows, as the adjacent station Kelsterbach, the type design of the Hessian Ludwig Railway and is a cultural monument under the Hessian Monument Protection Act.

Infrastructure

The station has three platform tracks. Track 1 is the main platform. From here, the S -Bahn lines S8 and S9 towards Wiesbaden Hauptbahnhof operate Mainz Hauptbahnhof (S8 ) and Mainz -Kastel (S9). Track 2 track 3 shares with an island platform. From track 2, the S- trains run via Frankfurt ( Main ) Airport Regional Station, Frankfurt (Main ) Hauptbahnhof and Offenbach Ost to Hanau Hauptbahnhof. Track 3 is used only as a passing siding.

On the platforms new LCD displays were mounted as in Frankfurt's downtown area. The devices in Raunheim were attached to the tracks 1 and 2. The displays will be supplemented by automatic announcers Between spring 2009 and autumn 2020, which can be monitored from a central station in Frankfurt's main train station and supplemented by announcements of employees if necessary.

The Raunheimer station is not wheelchair accessible.

Operation

Raunheim lies in the tariff area of the Rhine -Main Transport Association.

S -Bahn

The S- trains run every quarter hour between Hanau and Offenbach Ost and Wiesbaden, Mainz Hbf or alternately on the Mainz- Kastel. In the late evening hours run single short commuter trains between Rüsselsheim and Frankfurt Central Station or Offenbach Ost. The trains of the S9 go in the evenings (from about 20:30 clock ) only between Wiesbaden Hbf and Frankfurt Hbf (high).

Bus

At the station there is the bus station and Raunheim Raunheim station south side. Here keep the city bus lines 78 and 79 which run between Raunheim shopping centers, Raunheim station, Gols and Kelsterbach station.
