Raymond J. Donovan

Raymond James Donovan ( born August 31, 1930 in Bayonne, New Jersey) is an American politician ( Republican) and managers.

Biography

After school he studied at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, which he in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) graduated in philosophy. He then became a manager in the private sector and was most recently Vice Chairman of the contractor Schiavone Construction Company.

On February 4, 1981, he was appointed by U.S. President Ronald Reagan to the labor minister ( Secretary of Labor ) in his cabinet. This office he held until March 15, 1985.

Because of his role as Vice President of the contractor, Schiavone was raised against him for fraud and theft. In 1987, he was acquitted by a court of these allegations. Donovan commented initiated against him as follows:
