Real Life (Band)

Real Life is an Australian New Wave band. With hits like Send Me an Angel ( 1983) and Catch Me I'm Falling (1984 ) from their debut album Heartland they were mid-1980s, also known in German-speaking countries.

History

Real Life was founded in 1981 in Melbourne and grew out of the band The Wires, appeared in the David Sterry, Richard Zatorski and Alan Johnson together as a trio. After Real Life had made in the first two years by a variety of live performances locally a name, in 1982 came the drummer Danny Simic, and the band signed in the same year her first recording contract.

Send Me an Angel, her first single, was released in the fall of 1983 and promptly their biggest hit. First, they were so in their home, then in other European countries and even the United States succeed where the single reached in early 1989 as a re-release again a top 40 position. In Germany the title in May 1984 even reached first place

After some line-up changes Real Life was still only a duo. In 2005, George Pappas eventually left the band. Singer David Sterry, the last remaining member of the band, now becomes even more than real life on festivals. In 2009, an album of remixes and cover versions appeared.
