Rebel MC
Rebel MC ( Michael West, born August 27, 1965 in Tottenham, London ) is a British singer, rapper and producer who is also known under the name Conquering Lion, Congo Natty, Blackstar, Tribe of Issachar, X Project and Ras Project.
Career
The first hits had Rebel MC 1989 with Double Trouble. The single Just Keep Rockin ' became a Top 20 hit in the UK, Street Tuff placed throughout Europe in the charts. Thereafter, concentrated London on his solo career and first published pop rap. In 1991, he changed his style and mixed critical texts with danceable beats. The corresponding LP called Black Meaning Good and made Michael West a pioneer of the British Jungle, and indirectly the drum and bass. The new style was heard on the 1992- Singles Rich Ah Getting Richer and Humanity, both of which went into the UK charts.
In the following years, West dedicated his other projects, such as Conquering Lion. As of 2004, the musician released again several singles, EPs and albums as Rebel MC.
