The Red River is an approximately 92 km long tributary of the Kentucky River, in east-central Kentucky (USA).

It rises in the mountains of the Cumberland Plateau, in the limit of Wolfe County for Magoffin County, approximately 24 km east of Campton. It flows generally eastward through the Red River Gorge in the Daniel Boone National Forest, then at Stanton and Clay City over. About 18 km south-east of Winchester he empties into the Kentucky River.

In 1993, a 32 km long section was awarded high sandstone cliffs, waterfalls and natural bridges 48 in the Red River Gorge of the U.S. federal government as a National Wild and Scenic River.
