Regina Strinasacchi
Regina Strinasacchi, married silt, ( born February 28, 1761 Ostiglia, † June 11, 1839 in Dresden) was a famous violinist of Mozart's time.
Life
Regina Strinasacchi received her musical training at the Conservatorio della Pietà in Venice, an orphanage for girls, which was famous for its music education. This also included the conducting and playing of stringed and wind instruments, although it did back then in wide circles for women only singing and playing the piano for seemly. In the same or following year Regina Strinasacchi married the cellist Johann Conrad silt from Gotha. It was permanent staff member of the Gotha court orchestra, which was extremely unusual for a woman at that time. Besides violin, she played guitar, composed - but all the works have been lost - and probably also conducted. Between 1795 and 1810 she undertook with her husband and a Caroline silt, possibly her daughter, several concert tours. After the death of her husband in 1818 she moved with her son Johann Friedrich Wilhelm ( 1801-1874 ), a cellist and instrument maker, to Dresden, where she also died.
