Regla

Regla is one of the 15 municipalities of Havana, with 42,420 inhabitants in an area of 9.2 km ² ( census 2012). Management Legally Regla has the status of Municipalities.

The town is a commercial and industrial suburb with shipyards, docks, refineries and foundries and is known for its rich colonial history. It is the hometown of the writer Dulce Chacón (1954-2003), the Guaracheros de Regla Santería and the traditional celebrations of the Virgen de Regla.

During the colonial period Regla was formed which was established in 1690 Nuestra Señora de Regla. During the 19th century the place presented a center for smuggling activities dar.

The sister city Reglas is Richmond, California. In Regla also the Colina Lenin is (Lenin Hills).
