Reiko Tosa

Reiko Tosa (Japanese Reiko Tosa土 佐 礼 子, born June 11, 1976 in Matsuyama ) is a Japanese long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon.

She was at the World Half Marathon Championships Fifth in their personal best time of 1:09:36 h 2000, she was both the Nagoya Marathon as well as the Tokyo International Women's Marathon Second 1999.

In the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton in 2001 she won silver behind Lidia Simon (ROM) and Svetlana Zakharova before (RUS ).

In 2002, she turned to her personal best of 2:22:46 h in fourth place in the London Marathon. In a marathon of the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, for which they had qualified by winning the Nagoya Marathon in the same year, she was fifth.

In 2006, she was third in the Boston Marathon and won the Tokyo International Women's Marathon. At the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, she won bronze third behind Catherine Ndereba (Kenya) and Zhou Chunxiu (China).

Reiko Tosa has a competition weight of 51 kg at a height of 1.65 m. They will start for the team of the insurance company Mitsui Sumitomo.
