Rena Sofer

Rena Sofer Sherel ( born December 2, 1968 in Arcadia, California) is an American actress.

Life

Rena Sofer is the daughter of an Orthodox Jewish rabbi and a psychology teacher. She moved to Pittsburgh when her parents divorced. At the age of 15 years a New York agent on the lookout for new talent became aware of them. She then played with in the television series Loving. As an actress she is predominantly active in television series, including 24, Coupling and Melrose Place. For her role in the American soap opera General Hospital as Lois Cerullo Ashton, she was awarded the Emmy.

Sofer was from 1995 until the divorce in 1997, married to Wallace Kurth, who had played the role of her husband in the television series General Hospital. He is also the father of her daughter. Since May 2003, the actress is married to director and producer Sanford Bookstaver. Their daughter was born in 2005.
