Renhō

Renho (Japanese莲舫; officially jap Renho Murata (村田 莲舫, Murata Renho ); originally Chinese谢 莲舫, Pinyin Xie Lianfang, W.-G. Hsieh Lien -fang, Japanese Sha Renho; born November 28, 1967 in the Tokyo prefecture) is a Japanese politician, former Minister and Member of the Sangiin for the Democratic Party (DPJ ). Within the party she belongs to the Noda group. Before her entry into politics Renho was known as a model and television presenter.

Renho is the daughter of a Taiwanese businessman and a Japanese mother. She opted for the later Japanese citizenship and was with the maternal family name as Saitō Renho (斉 藤 莲舫) entered in the register name. She studied public law at the Aoyama Gakuin University, graduating she made in 1990.

During her studies Renho began as a model in advertising to work, and increasingly appear on television. From 1992 she was a presenter for the TV station TBS, then from 1993 on TV Asahi. In the same year she married. In 1995, she went on a study visit to Beijing, 1997, she gave birth to her two children Suiran (翠兰) and Rin (琳). In 2000, she returned as a news presenter on TBS.

In the 2004 election Renho was (at that time, four of eight seats are up for election ) was chosen as candidate for the DPJ in the prefecture of Tokyo from Sangiin: with 924 643 votes they scored the third highest share of the vote. In the 2010 election Sangiin Renho received more than 1.7 million votes in the prefecture of Tokyo and was clearly re-elected with the highest share of the vote as a Member.

Nationally, political awareness gained Renho from 2009 through their dedicated role in the public hearings of the newly established " conference to renew the administration" for checking individual budget items. In 2010 she appointed Prime Minister Naoto Kan as the responsible Minister in his Cabinet, in January 2011, she also received the responsibilities for consumer and food safety.
