Rentokill (band)

Rentokill is a punk / hardcore punk band from Wiener Neustadt- Austria. She is currently in hiatus.

Career

The band was founded in late 1996. In 1999, the band released their first demo and then followed in 2001 their second demo " 6 Days". Both publications were produced by the band themselves and sold at their concerts. Their first album Back To Convenience released in 2004 on CD on the Graz hc / punk label Rise or Rust Records and as an orange -colored, transparent vinyl on a Broken Heart Records from Bruck an der Leitha. Through tireless touring and establish new contacts to England and Germany Back To Convenience was re-released in 2005 by Vitaminepillen Records from Germany and Engineer Records from England ( and the USA). A three-week headlining tour through England and Scotland followed in February and March 2005, followed by a tour of Holland with the friendly Dutch band Antillectual.

In the spring of 2006, the band starts recording for their new album. Shortly afterwards, another tour by GB (including with PMX ) and a tour of Croatia and Slovenia (including with Astpai ). The new album was released on Anti Chorus RUDE Records ( CD) and Broken Heart Records ( vinyl ) on 18 May 2007. In early 2009, the band toured with Rise Against and Strike Anywhere by various countries in Europe, this was followed by their first tour through Canada with Canadian punk rock band High Five Drive. Currently the band is working on their third studio album, as well as a U.S. tour was announced for the summer of 2010.

On 17 June 2010 have been announced on their official MySpace or Facebook page that the band due to personal reasons cancels all upcoming shows and a stop will be made on an unpredictable time.

Music style

The band plays a mix of punk and hardcore punk, incorporated into the partly different styles of music. The majority of their songs is characterized by a fairly rapid pace. Rentokill sing exclusively in English and the lyrics are mostly political. Among other things, makes the band greatly in their texts for vegetarianism, veganism, animal rights and human rights.
