Rex Hartwig

Rex Noel Hartwig ( born September 2, 1929 in Culcairn, New South Wales ) is an Australian former tennis player.

In 1953, he was with Mervyn Rose the double of the American Tennis Championships against the Americans Gardnar Mulloy and Bill Talbert in four sets 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 win, having already visited with the U.S. American Julie Sampson had won against Maureen Connolly and Hamilton Richardson in two sets 6:4 and 6:3, the mixed doubles of the Australian Tennis Championships.

1954 Hartwig finished second at the Australian Tennis Championships. He lost against his doubles partner Mervyn Rose in four sets 2:6, 6:0, 4:6 and 2:6. In the doubles competition Rex Hartwig and Mervyn Rose competed in the final against their compatriots Neale Fraser and Clive Wilder spin. You could win the match in three sets 6:3, 6:4 and 6:2.
