Reyvroz

Reyvroz is a commune in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Reyvroz is located at 777 m above sea level. M., 8 km southeast of the town of Thonon -les- Bains ( straight line ). The village is located in the Chablais, on a promontory on the eastern slopes of Mont d' Hermone, high above the Dranse at the entrance of the Vallée du Brevon, in the northern Savoy Alps.

The area of ​​9.82 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the Vallée du Brevon. The northeastern boundary is the Dranse, the gorge-like cuts in a deep erosion valley, the area between the Mont d' Hermone and the high plateau of the Pays de Gavot. From the southwest here opens the Brevon also cut deep. The municipal area extends westward beyond the projection of Reyvroz to the Mont d' Hermone ( to 1370 m above sea level. M. ). To the south it extends beyond the Brevon up to the Pointe du Rocher Blanc, on 1520 m above sea level. M. the highest point of Reyvroz is achieved.

To Reyvroz include the hamlet settlements Vers le Nant ( 691 m above sea level. M. ), Vers le Pré ( 745 m above sea level. M. ) and Bull ( 835 m above sea level. M. ) on the eastern slopes of Mont d' Outre Hermone and Brevon ( 766 m above sea level. M. ) on the southern flank of the Brevon. Neighboring communities of Reyvroz are Féternes in the north, La Vernaz in the east, the south and VAILLY Lyaud in the West.

Attractions

The village church dates from the 19th century. A chapel stands at the homestead Charmay.

Population

With 482 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Reyvroz one of the small towns in the Haute-Savoie region. After the population had decreased markedly during the first half of the 20th century (1901 Reyvroz still counted 671 inhabitants), a growth of population was recorded since the 1980s again.

Economy and infrastructure

Reyvroz was until well into the 20th century a predominantly coined by farming village. Today there are various businesses of the local small business sector. Many working population commuters who engage in the larger towns in the area, especially in Thonon -les- Bains, their work.

The village is located off the major thoroughfares, but is of Thonon -les- Bains on the D26, which leads to Saint -Jeoire, relatively easily accessible.
