The Rhineland Theatre ( RLT) is the largest traveling drama theater in North Rhine -Westphalia.
History
On August 16, 1925, the Rheinische Städtebundtheater GmbH was founded with headquarters in Neuss. Members of the registered club next to the headquarters city of Neuss communities Buer, Kleve, Emmerich, Gladbeck, Kohlscheid, Stolberg, the arts community and the county Lüdenscheid Solingen. In 1937 it was renamed the " Rhineland theater ". To the 30th anniversary of the theater, the city erected the building in the Drususallee, which remained up to 2000 permanent venue of the stage. 1981 merged the Rhenish State Theatre with the Theatre on the Lower Rhine. Under the artistic direction of Hermann Wetzke (1967-1978) and Karl Wesseler (1978-1983) gave among others Eddie Arent, Lou van Burg, Heinz Drache, Klaus Havenstein, Karl Jahn, Günter Lamprecht, Bruni Lobel, Willy Millowitsch, Brigitte Mira, Peter Mosbacher, Christian Quadflieg, Edith Schneider, Herta Staal, Wolfgang Volz and Hanne again guest performances. From 1990 to 1993 worked the later playwright Lutz Hübner as a director and an actor at RLT.
