Ricardinho (2007)

Ricardo Luís Pozzi Rodrigues, also Ricardinho, (* May 23, 1976 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian football player and current coach.

Playing career

Association

Ricardinho played until 1997 when Brazilian club Paraná Clube, before joining the French club Girondins Bordeaux.

After just one season, the midfielder returned to Brazil and played in the aftermath of the SC Corinthians Paulista and Sao Paulo. With Corinthians he won in 1998 and 1999, the Brazilian championship and the 2002 Brazilian Cup. He also won in 2000 with his club, the Club World Cup.

After a three-month interlude in 2004 when English club Middlesbrough FC Ricardinho played at FC Santos and stood since the beginning of 2006 again at Corinthians under contract.

August 14, 2006 Ricardinho joined the Turkish football club Beşiktaş Istanbul. Ricardinho changed in the 2008 /09 season in Qatar with Al- Rayyan Sports Club. At the beginning of the season 2009/10 Ricardinho changed again. This time free transfer to Atlético Mineiro. After two years he transferred in June 2011 to league rivals EC Bahia, before he ended his career in January 2012.

National

His debut in the Brazilian national football team he was on 28 March 2000 in the match against Colombia.

Since then, he played 23 international matches for the Seleção and scored one goal.

Due to an injury to his compatriot Emerson Ricardinho was re-nominated for the 2002 World Cup. He came off the bench in three games and won with his team the World Cup.

He also starred in the squad for the 2006 World Cup. He was so beside Rogério Ceni goalkeeper and midfielder Mineiro one of only three players in the squad of the Brazilian who played for a Brazilian club.

Coaching career

A day after his career end in mid-January, he announced that he would take up a coaching position at his youth club Paraná Clube said.
