Ricardo Arias

Ricardo Manuel Arias Espinoza ( born April 5, 1912 in Washington, DC, † March 15, 1993 in Panama City ) was the 29th President of the Republic of Panama.

Arias Espinoza first studied at the Colegio de La Salle in Bogota, Colombia, then moved to the Academy Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. He received his degree studies at Georgetown University and the Catholic University of Chile. From 1952 to 1955 he was second vice president of the country, and from 1955 until his election to election to the presidency he was Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Office of the President, he took over on March 29, 1955 as the successor of the deposed President José Ramón Guizado Valdés and led the Office of the regular term of the assassinated President Jose Antonio Remon Cantera until 1 October 1956. During his tenure, he sought the land for the purposes to lead by Remon to bring the country out of depression. He was succeeded by Ernesto de la Guardia Navarro. Arias was then his country's ambassador to the United Nations.
