Richard Desmond (ice hockey)

Richard Desmond Joseph ( born March 2, 1927 in Medford, Massachusetts, † November 1, 1990 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American professional ice hockey goaltender.

Career

Richard Desmond attended from 1945 to 1949 Dartmouth College, for its hockey team he played parallel to his studies. There he was able to recommend for the national team. In 1988 he was honored with induction into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame.

Internationally

For the U.S. Desmond participated in the Olympic Winter Games in 1952 in part in Oslo, where he won the silver medal with his team. At the World Championships 1950 he won with the USA also the silver medal.
