Riga-Marathon
The Riga Marathon ( official name since 2007 Nordea Rigas maratons after the main sponsor Nordea ) is a marathon, which takes place in Riga since 1991. The program also includes a half marathon and runs about 5 and 10 km.
Route
The course consists of two rounds. The start is at the Riga Castle. After one kilometer followed the right bank of the Daugava river, turn to the new town and returns to the National Theatre past back to the starting point and flattens out for a short distance turning point the Daugava. Through the old town then you reach a turning point route that leads on the right bank of the Daugava river upstream. The second round begins with two loops through the neighborhoods Petersala and Skanste before again crossing the rope bridge on the Daugava, where this time the island Ķīpsala is driven. The last part again leads through the old town to the destination on the Daugava.
The half marathon is identical to the first round of the marathon.
