The Ringstraßenpalais was a television series of the ORF, in cooperation with ZDF. The name of the series refers to the magnificent Ringstraßenpalais at the Vienna Ringstrasse.

Action

In Vienna is built on the Ringstrasse in 1867 despite the crushing defeat at the Battle of Hradec Kralove.

Franz Graf styles Mount comes as a representative of his stuck in financial difficulties family to Baron Eduard Baumann to ask him for financial assistance. He meets the daughter of the Baron know, falls in love and marries her. Throughout the series the rise and fall of species Berg family is portrayed and how they have to fight for their survival over time. The fate of the family is emblematic of the history of Austria. The story begins in the mid- 19th century and continues into the modern era, in the 1980s.

Scenes

The action takes place in Vienna. It was filmed in part at the Palais Schey of Koromla on the ring road, corner Goethegasse.

Broadcast

The first two seasons were first aired from 1980 to 1982 by the ORF. They included six episodes to 90 minutes. In 1986, the third season was followed by three episodes. In repetitions individual episodes were sent in two parts of 45 minutes each.
