Rinspeed
Rinspeed is a small Swiss company that provides regularly at the Geneva Motor Show with its sometimes spectacular concept cars and ideas for attention.
History
In 1979, Frank M. Rinderknecht a company to save money or to get a moped accessories at a reasonable price. The result was a company that developed hereafter by the importer for sun roofs to represent for AMG (1982) and for AC Schnitzer (1988). In 1981 Rinspeed the first widely acclaimed concept car: the Rinspeed Aliporta, a VW Golf with double doors. In 1983, as the next step, a Porsche 959 Targa version.
Since 1991 Rinspeed presented each year at least one new concept and specialty vehicles. Between 2002 and 2005 Rinspeed showed four vehicles, three of which operate on environmental grounds with natural gas or natural gas. In contrast to the 2005 featured Chopster: a Porsche Cayenne with a lowered roof and 600 horsepower, which is built in a small series especially for the Middle East. BamBoo is the latest creation for the Geneva Motor Show 2011.
Rinspeed is a public company, based in Zumikon in Zurich, but is privately owned and does not publish sales figures. The focus today is on the auto finishing, car manufactures, prototypes, small and Sonderserienbau.
