Risserkogel

The Risserkogel is a 1826 meter high mountain in the Bavarian Alps south of Lake Tegernsee, and ranks among the highest peaks of the Tegernsee Mountains, which belong to the Mangfallgebirge. Due to its secluded location offers from the summit cross comprehensive views that goes on clear days in the east to the Kaiser Mountains, in the south to the Großglockner and Großvenediger in the west to the Zugspitze and in the north to Munich. On the Risserkogel several marked walks lead from all the surrounding valleys, require at least sure-footed, but have no real climbing sections:

  • Of the Hufnagel room ( Suttengebiet ) in Rottach- valley over the Sieblialm, Riedereckalm and the East Ridge 2.5 hours
  • Of the White Valepp -Alm (on the toll road suttas - Valepp ) on Bernauer Alm and the south ridge in 3 hours
  • Of Wildbad Kreuth on the Schwaigeralm, Scheueralm, Ableitenalm, the Grubereck and the west ridge in 3 hours
  • Of Kreuth ( district Riedlern ) on the forested western flank of Grubereck and the west ridge in 3 hours
  • From the mountain station of the Wallenberg train as level hike over mountain setting, Grubereck and west ridge in 2 hours

Even in winter the Risserkogel is often climbed with skis or snowshoes of Wildbad Kreuth from the steep sunny slopes of Ableitenalm.

North of the Risser Kogel is the 1768 m high Plankenstein with climbing routes from II to X difficulty. West of the Risser Kogel is the Grubereck, east of the Risser Kogel are the snow floors.

Northeast below the Plank stone is the Riederecksee, northwest below the Röthensteiner lake.
