Rival Schools (band)

Rival Schools is a company incorporated in 2001 American post-hardcore band from New York City.

Band History

Rival Schools was founded in 2001 by singer and guitarist Walter Schreifels, who had previously played in hardcore and post-hardcore bands like Youth of Today, Gorilla Biscuits and Quicksand. The other members were drummer Sammy Siegler (including Youth of Today, CIV, Glassjaw ), Ian Love (guitar) and Cache Tolman (bass, later Institute). The group was named after a computer game series from Capcom.

The first work of the band, a 6 songs comprehensive EP, was recorded together with Jonah Matranga and published on Schreifels own label Some Records.
